Jiri's Piano Art
The Piano is dead. Long live the Piano!
"I have long been inspired by the beauty of the piano - not only for the music it produces but for the way it's made, its beautiful components. My old pianos never die, they're reborn!"
Jiri Kripac, 2019
"Jiri Kripac is a jazz musician and visual artist from the Central Coast of New South Wales. In 1996, when he was living in Bondi, he found an old piano left out in the street. He dismantled it, fascinated with what he found. He began to make a sculpture...The sculptures are visual and textural recycling rather than sonic."
